1. Study the following table carefully and answer the questions that follow:
Semester fees (In Rs. thousands) for five Different Courses in 6 different years.
What was the difference between the total semester fee charged for diploma course over the years together and the fee charged for B. Tech Course in the year 2009?
= Rs. {(1.8 + 3.2 + 4.8 + 5.6 + 12.5 + 14.9) × 1000 - (35.8 × 1000)}
= Rs. {(42.8 × 1000) - (35.8 × 1000)}
= Rs. (7 × 1000)
= Rs. 7000

What was the difference between the total semester fee charged for diploma course over the years together and the fee charged for B. Tech Course in the year 2009?
Solution:
Required difference= Rs. {(1.8 + 3.2 + 4.8 + 5.6 + 12.5 + 14.9) × 1000 - (35.8 × 1000)}
= Rs. {(42.8 × 1000) - (35.8 × 1000)}
= Rs. (7 × 1000)
= Rs. 7000
