1. The following pie- chart shows the study- time of different subject of a student in a day. Study the pie chart and answer the following questions.

The time spent to study history and chemistry is 4 hours 30 minutes, Then the student studies physics for:

A. 1 hours 30 min

B. 2.9 hour (approx.)

C. 2 hours

D. 3 hours

Solution:

\begin{aligned} Time spend in H + C \\ = (15 + 15) % \\ = 30 % \\ Time spend in  P = 20% \\ ∵ 30 % = 4 \frac{1}{2} H = \frac{9}{2} H \\ 1 % = \frac{9}{2} \times 30 H \\ So, 20 % = \frac{9}{2} \times \frac{20}{30} H = 3 Hours \\ So 20 % = \frac{3}{20} \times 20 = 3 Hours \end{aligned}
