Solution:

\begin{aligned} Speed \\ = (60 \times \frac{5}{18}) m/sec \\ = \frac{50}{3} m/sec \\ Total distance covered \\ =  (100  + 140) m  =  240 m \\ ∴ Required time \\ = (240 \times \frac{3}{50}) sec \\ = \frac{72}{5} sec \\ =  14 .4 sec \end{aligned}
