1. A cuboidal water tank contains 216 litres of water. Its depth is 13 of its length and breadth is 12 of 13 of the difference between length and depth. The length of the tank is :

Solution:
Let the length of the tank be x dm
Then, depth of the tank = x3 dm
Breadth of the tank :
=[12 of 13 of (xx3)]dm=(12×13×2x3)dm=x9dm
x×x9×x3=216x3=216×27x=6×3x=18dm
