1. A diagonal of a rhombus is 6 cm. If its area is 24 cm² then the length of each side of the rhombus is :

A. 5 cm

B. 6 cm

C. 7 cm

D. 8 cm

Solution:

\begin{aligned} \frac{1}{2} \times 6 \times d = 24 \\ \Rightarrow d = \frac{24}{3} \\ \Rightarrow d = 8 c m \\ O A = 4 c m and O B = 3 c m \\ ∴ A B = \sqrt{{(O A)}^{2} + {(O B)}^{2}} \\ = \sqrt{4^{2} + 3^{2}} \\ = 5 c m \end{aligned}
