Solution:

Let the number be x
Then,

\begin{aligned} \Leftrightarrow \frac{x}{5} + 4 = \frac{x}{4} - 10 \\ \Leftrightarrow \frac{x}{4} - \frac{x}{5} = 14 \\ \Leftrightarrow \frac{x}{20} = 14 \\ \Leftrightarrow x = 14 \times 20 \\ \Leftrightarrow x = 280 \end{aligned}
