1. If 2A = 3B = 4C, then A : B : C is equal to -

A. 2 : 3 : 4

B. 3 : 4 : 6

C. 4 : 3 : 2

D. 6 : 4 : 3

Solution:

Let 2A = 3B = 4C = k

\begin{aligned} Then, \\ A = \frac{k}{2}, \\ B = \frac{k}{3}, \\ C = \frac{k}{4} \\ ∴ A : B : C = \frac{k}{2} : \frac{k}{3} : \frac{k}{4} \\ = \frac{1}{2} : \frac{1}{3} : \frac{1}{4} (Multiply by 12) \\ = 6 : 4 : 3 \end{aligned}
