1. If A : B = 2 : 3, B : C = 2 : 4 and C : D = 2 : 5, then A : D is equal to -

\begin{aligned} = \frac{A}{B} = \frac{2}{3}, \frac{B}{C} = \frac{2}{4}, \frac{C}{D} = \frac{2}{5} \\ \Rightarrow \frac{A}{D} = (\frac{A}{B} \times \frac{B}{C} \times \frac{C}{D}) \\ \Rightarrow \frac{2}{3} \times \frac{2}{4} \times \frac{2}{5} = \frac{2}{15} \\ \Rightarrow A : D = 2 : 15. \end{aligned}
