1. If three metallic spheres of radii 6 cm, 8 cm and 10 cm are melted to from a single sphere, the diameter of the new sphere will be :

Solution:
Volume of new sphere :
=[43π×(6)3+43π×(8)3+43π×(10)3] cm3=[43π{(6)3+(8)3+(10)3}] cm3=(43π×1728)cm3=[43π×(12)3] cm3
Let the radius of the new sphere be R
Then,
43πR3=43π×(12)3R=12cm
∴ Diameter :
=2R=2×12=24cm
