1. Which cities are connected by the newly launched Namo Bharat Rapid Rail, also known as the Vande Metro?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail, also known as the Vande Metro, on September 16, 2024. This new rail service connects Ahmedabad and Bhuj, covering a distance of 360 kilometres in 5 hours and 45 minutes. The train operates at a speed of up to 110 km/h and stops at nine stations along the route. This initiative is part of India's efforts to enhance its rail infrastructure, alongside the launch of other Vande Bharat Express trains on different routes.
