1. Which Indian Coast Guard Director General passed away recently?
Director General Rakesh Pal, who served as the 25th Director General of the Indian Coast Guard, passed away from a heart attack in Chennai. He took charge in July 2022 and made significant contributions to strengthening India’s maritime security, including the introduction of new patrol vessels. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed deep sorrow over Pal's untimely demise and highlighted his leadership's contributions to the ICG's advancements. The Indian Navy and Army also paid tributes to Rakesh Pal, acknowledging his dedication and leadership. Pal, a decorated officer, is survived by his family, leaving behind a legacy of service and commitment to India’s coastal security.
