Justice N Kotiswar Singh, currently the Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, has become the first judge from Manipur to be elevated to the Supreme Court of India. His appointment, along with that of Justice R Mahadevan, was recently cleared by President Droupadi Murmu.
