1. Who has been appointed as the new Defence Secretary of India?
Rajesh Kumar Singh, a 1989-batch IAS officer from the Kerala cadre, has been appointed as the Defence Secretary of India, succeeding Giridhar Aramane, a 1988-batch IAS officer from Andhra Pradesh who recently retired. Rajesh Kumar Singh previously served as the Secretary for the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. His appointment marks a transition in leadership in the Ministry of Defence.
